Growing a peaceful relationship with food & body
Cultivating eating competence involves becoming more positive, comfortable, attuned, and flexible with eating and activity as well as practical and reliable about getting enough to eat of enjoyable food that fuels the body and nourishes the soul.
Dr. Harris uses a collaborative, relational, compassionate, and experiential approach in empowering clients to engage in nourishing self-care that involves eating, feeding, moving, tuning in, and recovery. She does not offer a weight-focused approach.
Her body-inclusive, strengths-based, trauma-informed and holistic work focuses on cultivating eating competence and helping clients let go of: food and weight pre-occupation; body image disturbance; disordered eating behaviors; chronic dieting and weight cycling; mindless or disconnected eating; chaotic or compulsive eating; food fears or avoidances; child feeding challenges; and exercise addiction or resistance.
Dr. Harris is an experienced dietitian/nutritionist, certified specialist in eating disorders and sports dietetics, and exercise physiologist who is committed to people's journeys towards building supportive and trusting relationships with food and body.
